ANTIVIRAL PROPERTIES
Based on scientific studies, the antiviral actions of the ingredients of PflanzenölE are as follows:
- BASIL (Ocimum basilicum)
- Active components: apigenin, linalool, and ursolic acid
- known to have antiviral properties against herpes viruses (HSV), adenoviruses (ADV), hepatitis B virus
(HPV) and the RNA viruses coxsackievirus B1 (CVB1) and enterovirus 71 (EV71)
- disrupts the viral infection and replication processes
- CINNAMON (Cinnamomum cassia)
- Active components: phenylpropanoids (cinnamaldehyde and cis-2-methoxycinnamic acid)
- inhibits virus by preventing viral attachment and entry
- CLOVE (Syzygium aromaticum)
- Active components: eugenyl acetate, eugenol, and β-caryophyllene, Oleanolic acid
- known to have antiviral properties against Herpes simplex, hepatitis C viruses, and HIV
- inhibits viral activity at the replication stage
- FRANKINCENSE (from Boswellia spp)
- Active components: 3-acetyl-beta-boswellic acid, alpha-boswellic acid, incensole acetate, phellandrene
- known antiviral against influenza
- blocks the ability of the virus to assemble itself inside the cell
- GINGER (Zingeber officinale)
- Active components: gingerols, shogaols, and paradols
- blocks viral attachment and entry
- OREGANO (Origanum x majoricum)
- known to inhibit different human and animal viruses in vitro, including human rotavirus (RV)
- disintegrates viral capsid which destroys the viral RNA and eventually the virus
- interacts with the viral envelope and the viral proteins to prevent attachment and entry
- PEPPERMINT (Mentha piperata)
- Active components: eugenyl acetate, eugenol, and β-caryophyllene, Oleanolic acid
- known to have antiviral properties against parvovirus kills viruses within the cell
- SAGE (Salvia officinalis)
- Active components: Volatile oils: camphor, 1,8-cineole, alpha- and beta-pinene, bornyl cetate, geraniol, limonene, camphene, linalool, terpineol, gamma-terpinene, alpha-humulene, and beta-caryophyllene. Phenolic diterpene compounds: carnosol, 12-O-methylcarnosol, 12-O-methyl carnosic acid, and carnosic acid
- antiviral action at the intracellular level
- inhibits early stages of infection
- THYME (Thymus vulgaris)
- Active components: sesquiterpenes, monoterpenes, and phenylpropanoids
- interferes with the virus envelope, and also masks viral components which are necessary for attachment, penetration, or entry into host cells
- TURMERIC (Curcuma longa)
- Active components: curcumin
- known to have antiviral properties against hepatitis B, parainfluenza virus type 3 (PIV-3), feline infectious peritonitis virus (FIPV), vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV), herpes simplex virus (HSV), flock house virus (FHV), and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)
- suppresses viral multiplication in the transcription stage
IBACTERIAL PROPERTIES
Based on scientific studies, the antimicrobial actions of the ingredients of PflanzenölE are as follows:
- BASIL (Ocimum basilicum)
- damages bacterial cell membrane
- CINNAMON (Cinnamomum cassia)
- depletes the intracellular energy (ATP) of the bacteria
- CLOVE (Syzygium aromaticum)
- damages bacterial cell membrane, disrupts energy metabolism, damages bacterial DNA
- FRANKINCENSE (Boswellia spp)
- induces apoptosis (cell suicide) of bacteria
- GINGER (Zingeber officinale)
- disrupts bacterial DNA responsible for its energy metabolism; also destroys bacterial cell membrane
- OREGANO (Origanum x majoricum)
- disrupts bacterial cell membrane integrity that leads to lysis (disintegration)
- PEPPERMINT (Mentha piperata)
- removes biofilm and inhibits its formation; damages cell membrane
- SAGE (Salvia officinalis)
- inhibits bacterial biofilm formation
- THYME (Thymus vulgaris)
- Disrupts bacterial cell membrane integrity that leads to lysis (disintegration)
- TURMERIC (Curcuma longa)
- induces apoptosis (cell suicide) of bacteria
Based on scientific studies, the ingredients of PflanzenölE™ are also ANTI-INFLAMMATORY and
IMMUNE RESPONSE STIMULATORS.
VITAMIN E is used here primarily for its anti-oxidant property or the ability to reduce tissue damage
caused by free radicals. Thus, it can help slow down accelerated aging processes and be considered
anti-aging.
